Rise Temple Beyond a Place: A New Way to Return to Stillness

There are moments when something you have created begins to show you what it wants to become.

Rise Temple began as a physical sanctuary. A quiet place in the Byron Bay hinterland, surrounded by nature, where people could step away from the noise of everyday life and experience breathwork, meditation and private retreats in a deeply personal way.

That remains at the heart of Rise Temple.

But over time, something else has become increasingly clear.

The practice itself was never meant to belong only to a place.

It belongs in your home. In the quiet before your day begins. In the moment you notice your thoughts running away with you. In the space between reaction and response. In the simple recognition that beneath everything you are thinking, doing and carrying, there is an awareness that has always been there.

And so, as the new Rise Temple website launches, it also marks the beginning of a new chapter.

Rise Temple, Beyond the Physical Space

For those who have visited Rise Temple for breathwork Byron Bay, meditation, a private immersion or one of our private retreats Byron Bay, the physical environment is an important part of the experience.

Set in Upper Burringbar in the Northern Rivers, the space has been intentionally created to allow the nervous system to soften and the outside world to become a little quieter.

But what happens here is not dependent upon being here.

At its heart, the work at Rise Temple is about remembering how to return to yourself.

Through slow conscious breathing, meditation, visualisation and the practice of witness consciousness, we begin to notice something very simple: thoughts can be observed. Emotions can be felt without becoming our entire identity. The body can soften without us having to force it to.

There is a part of us that can simply witness.

And this is where meditation begins to move beyond something we do and becomes part of how we live.

Bringing Meditation Into Everyday Life

One of the most beautiful things I have witnessed through private sessions and retreats is what happens when someone experiences genuine stillness, perhaps for the first time in years.

But the deeper question is always:

How do I take this home with me?

This has become an increasingly important part of the work at Rise Temple.

A retreat can create the space for a profound experience. A private breathwork session can allow us to see ourselves differently. But it is the way we meet ordinary life afterwards that allows the practice to deepen.

That is why Rise Temple is expanding online.

The new online space has been created for people who may never physically travel to the Byron Bay and Northern Rivers region, as well as those who have already experienced Rise Temple and want to continue the practice at home.

It is about making stillness something we return to regularly, rather than something we seek only when life becomes overwhelming.

Return to Stillness: Weekly Online Meditation

From September, Rise Temple will offer a new weekly online meditation called Return to Stillness.

This is not about trying to stop your thoughts.

And it is not about becoming “good” at meditation.

It is a guided practice in observing.

We begin by allowing the body to settle and gradually move towards the experience of witness consciousness: becoming aware of thoughts, sensations and emotions without needing to follow every story the mind creates.

Over time, this practice can begin to change the relationship we have with our own inner world.

Rather than constantly trying to control what appears, we learn to witness it.

Rather than believing every thought, we begin to recognise that we are the awareness in which thought appears.

The online meditation classes are designed to create a regular space for this practice, wherever you happen to be.

You can create your own small Rise Temple at home. A comfortable mat or cushion. A blanket. A candle. Perhaps a plant or something from nature. Headphones if you have them.

Nothing elaborate.

Just a space that tells your body and mind:

For this moment, there is nowhere else I need to be.

Private Online Breathwork and Meditation

The new Rise Temple website also brings the private work online.

Alongside the in-person breathwork Byron Bay experiences at Rise Temple, you can now work with me through private online breathwork and meditation sessions from your own home.

These sessions retain the depth and personal nature of the work we do here.

We explore the beliefs, patterns and internal narratives that may be operating beneath the surface before moving into slow, conscious breathwork, visualisation and meditation.

For those wanting to go deeper, the 5-Week Private Breath & Belief Reset provides a longer container for this work, allowing time between sessions to observe what arises and begin integrating the practice into everyday life.

Because awareness is not something that exists only while your eyes are closed.

The real practice begins when you open them again.

The Physical Sanctuary Remains

As Rise Temple expands online, the physical sanctuary remains very much alive.

Private breathwork and meditation Byron Bay experiences continue here in Upper Burringbar, along with private one-to-one and couples immersions and our deeply personal Byron Bay wellness retreats.

There is something powerful about physically stepping away.

About waking surrounded by nature.

About having nowhere you need to rush to.

About being supported through breathwork, meditation, movement, rest and integration without the usual demands of everyday life waiting in the next room.

For some people, that immersion is exactly what is needed.

For others, the first step may simply be joining an online meditation from their living room.

Neither is more meaningful than the other.

They are simply different doorways into the same practice.

A New Chapter for Rise Temple

The new website reflects what Rise Temple has gradually been becoming.

Not simply a retreat destination.

Not simply a place for meditation in Byron Bay or breathwork in the Northern Rivers.

But a space for learning how to live with greater awareness.

A place to explore the breath.

To observe the mind.

To question the beliefs we have carried.

To experience stillness.

And ultimately, to recognise the awareness that exists beneath all of it.

Rise Temple may have begun as a physical space, but the practice itself isn't dependent upon where you are.

Wherever you are, you can return.

Wherever you are, you can observe.

Wherever you are, you can become still.

Return to Stillness Online Meditation begins Wednesday 2 September 2026.

Join from anywhere and begin creating your own Rise Temple at home.
